Who's Investing in Alabama, and Why?
The Alabama Business Intelligence Center at EDPA discusses economic development activity. Ever wonder which industries are eyeing Alabama for their next big investment, or how to make sense of project incentives? This presentation explores economic development projects nationwide, unpacking sector trends and offering a practical framework for weighing incentive dollars against the value they return to communities large and small. Lauren Hyde, CFA, is Executive Vice President of the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama and the first Executive Director of the Alabama Business Intelligence Center (AL Intel), where she brings an investment lens to public and private company analysis. She was previously a Senior Associate with EBSCO Capital and is a graduate of Samford University. Jacob Lamb, Ph.D., is Director of Research at AL Intel. A Birmingham native, he earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Clemson University, where he studied industrial organization, public finance, and econometrics, and holds a B.S. in Economics from Auburn University. His work focuses on company and industry analysis and market conditions research. Lunch program, 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
