A group of economists in the Birmingham area is
in the process of establishing a new Alabama
Economics Club where we can gather, learn,
network, and share ideas on a regular basis.
We will be the Alabama Chapter of the National
Association for Business Economics (NABE). NABE
is the premier professional association for
business economists and those who use economics
in the workplace.
Our first meeting will be on Monday, February
14, 2011 at the Federal Reserve Branch
office, 524 Liberty Parkway (just past the
Statue of Liberty at the Liberty Park Exit, #23,
on I-459). We will gather at 11:30AM
and eat lunch at Noon.
Our inaugural speaker will be Dr. Carol
Garrison, President of UAB, and she will be
talking about the recent analysis of the Impact
of UAB in the Birmingham Economy.
The luncheon will conclude at 1 PM.
